Team Frost-Arbuckle is the combined goal of two amateur sailors, with the dream to represent Canada at the 2012 Olympics in London, England. Friends since 1998, Rob Frost and Tom Arbuckle (the duo behind the team title) have developed this awareness campaign in the hopes of raising funding to achieve their personal and national goal of racing their 49er at the 2012 Olympics. After competitively racing the 29er, the training boat for the 49er, for a combined 11 years it was a natural choice to move up to the new Olympic class 49er. The 49er is one of the most extreme boats to sail in the world. With ultra-fast ability and quick maneuvering, the 49er requires an active and technical sailor with superior skill, athleticism and most importantly the guts to guide her. The 49er is now bringing sailing into the spotlight revealing that sailing is much more than a hobby, it can be an extreme sport complete with speed, adrenaline, and action. |
